Problem: Cement, steel and chemicals are the most manufactured products in the world every year. There is no real alternative to these products. Together they are responsible for about 20% of the worldwide emissions of C02. Most of those emissions come from their inner process: decarbonatation (cement), iron ore reduction (Steel), steam methane reforming (chemicals) and cannot easily be changed. Context: in Europe, the producers are submitted to EU-ETS. Several factors make it more urgent for those producers to invest & find solutions: from 2027, the allowance of EU-ETS will not be free anymore to become 100% payable in 2034; the price of EU-ETS is today at 60-100 €/t and is expected to increase above 100€/t. Solution: Modular machine installed on existing plant to capture CO2. Technology based on Metal Organic Framework (MOF) filters that allows fast cycles of adsorbing/desorbing CO2 from flue gas. CO2 can then be compressed and sent for geological sequestration (pipeline, containers).
