Terms & Conditions

1.0 Definitions (in alphabetical order)

1.1 Application refers to the application process to obtain a place on the Carbon13 programme.

1.2 Securing invitation refers to the invitation from us to you to accept a place on a Carbon13 programme, which specifies the agreement between us.

1.3 IT System(s) refers to those systems hosted or owned by Carbon13 for the purposes of hosting or conducting the programme.

1.4 On-line refers to any programme which is hosted on-line through our IT platforms.

1.5 Place refers to an allocation of a place on the Carbon13 programme.

1.6 Programme(s) specifies the Carbon13 Programme(s) as indicated on the application form.

2.0 General terms

2.1 Programmes provided by Carbon13 will only be open to individuals or organisations that have been invited to take a place on a Carbon13 Programme.

2.2 Application and securing places for all Programmes will be managed through Carbon13 only.

2.3 Carbon13’s decision to progress and applications and offer a place on the Programme is final.
2.4 You accept that participation in the programme is in part for the purpose of advancing, and in some cases promoting, your entrepreneurial efforts. As a consequence of this, we will normally share certain aspects of your biography and venture profile and details of the work you have done on the programme with other members of the Carbon13 community. In accordance with law and our Privacy Policy, your personal data remains under your ownership and you can register any exceptions or reservations you have about data being shared with Carbon13 at any time by emailing info@carbonthirteen.com.

2.5 All programmes, past and future will be promoted through the Carbon13 website, social media and event promotion channels.

2.6 We may record our Programmes so we can share them with programme participants.

2.7 All data collected through the Application form(s) will be stored and processed in line with our Privacy Policy.

2.8 All data contained within the programme listings (including speaker biographies) are automatically archived two years following the last date of their occurrence as per our Privacy Policy.

2.9 External organisations may not use our logo or brand materials without express advance written permission from us via info@carbonthirteen.com.

3.0 Code of Conduct

3.1 We will require you to acknowledge that you understand and will comply with our Code of Conduct policy, at the same time as you accept your place.

4.0 Application process

4.1 All Applications for a place on a programme must be made through our Application Form.
4.2 Carbon13’s decision to progress an application and offer a place on the programme is final.

5.0 Securing a place on the Programme/s

5.1 All offered places on a Programme must be accepted in line with instructions in offer.

5.2 No programme places will be confirmed using any other means and we reserve the right not to honour any arrangement which does not comply with this process.

5.3 Places on a programme are not confirmed until you have accepted your offer.

5.4 Confirmation of place does not guarantee a programme will take place.

6.1 We reserve the right to cancel any programme place(s) for which a confirmation necessary has not been made prior to the programme taking place.

6.2 We reserve the right to terminate any programme up to and including the start date and at any time during the programme immediately on giving written notice by email, and without liability to you, if:
6.2.1 We become aware that your booking may prejudice our reputation and/or breach any of the policies referenced in this document (or more widely which we are bound to adhere) and/or prejudice the comfort or enjoyment of any person on the programme.
6.2.2 You have contravened our Code of Conduct policy.
6.3 We will not be liable for any compensation in the event of a programme being cancelled or amended due to action(s) outside of our direct influence, including, but not limited to: industrial strike action, transportation delays or cancellations, adverse weather conditions, fire, flood, earthquake, elements of nature or Acts of God, pandemics, acts of war, terrorism, riots, malicious damage, civil disorders, rebellions or revolutions, strikes or lockouts, court orders, police orders, or third-party failure or non-performance.

7.0 Photography, recording and filming

7.1 We reserve the right to record, photograph or film the programme held via our IT systems.

7.2 Images and video taken may be used for marketing materials in both print and digital form and available to both internal and external audiences and programme participants.

7.3 By confirming your place on a programme you are granting us permission to undertake filming and use these images and videos in our marketing.

7.4 If, for whatever reason, you wish for an image or video to be removed please contact info@carbonthirteen.com and this will be actioned within 14 days of receipt of your request.
