partners who enable growth & Innovation

Real change does not come from an individual, but from unencumbered communities with original thinking. This applies all the more to the climate-tech sector. And a community does not stop at national borders. Since last year, Carbon13 has been active not only in the UK, but also in Germany and the EU. This would not be possible without our fantastic partners. They build bridges between the corporate world and our ventures, providing expertise and market access. Innovation may originate in the laboratory, but it only grows in application.

Siemens Energy Ventures

Siemens Energy Ventures focuses on investing, building and piloting ventures that will transform energy systems and help fight climate change.

Operating at the intersection between the corporate world and the startup ecosystem, our intention is to partner with start-ups and founders to accompany the growth journey, providing necessary support, guidance and network.

Siemens Energy Ventures offers a unique blend of expertise; with a strong innovation history coupled with market access, networks and deep technology know-how. What we’re looking for is founding teams solving big climate and energy challenges with innovative ideas so we can energize society together.

"We know that 35% of emissions reduction need to come from technologies that are not commercialized yet. Working with Carbon13 and supporting their founders in building those emerging climate technologies is critical to build the next bench of companies driving the energy transition. We can only win this together by bringing diverse teams around one common purpose - I am especially excited about the high number of women joining Carbon13."

Accelerating technologies for net zero and inspiring our people

As part of Arm’s climate crisis response, we have committed to reducing our own emissions and to supporting innovation in climate solutions – especially in tech-enabled carbon removal solutions. We are delighted to be partnering with Carbon13 to support this aim. Through this partnership we are also surfacing examples within the business of tech innovation for net zero, as well as enabling some of our people to volunteer their time to support Carbon13 ventures with their specialist skills and expertise.

“In 2020 Arm announced its commitment to become net zero carbon by 2030 across all its emissions sources. We knew that new climate solutions were needed and that the pace and scale of innovation wasn’t where it needed to be. We have established a partnership with Carbon13 to support and highlight the role of disruption and collaboration in accelerating the innovation we’ll all need to reach net zero.”

Fiona Riggall, Director of Sustainability and Climate Impact at Arm

The ecosystem is key to helping entrepreneurs flourish in an environment that fosters opportunity amid uncertainty. Corporates and startups working together can be a very difficult space, but a place where magic can happen.”
