Website Decidius

Transforming complexity into value from single bricks to entire buildings.

About Decidius

Decidius is the MRI scan for your building. Our system identifies what’s in a building, what it’s worth, and what to do with it; helping owners, developers, and contractors recover material value and cut embodied carbon instead of defaulting to demolition.

We’re pre-seed, with our round live from November 2026, and we have three pilot projects already set to commence across Belgium and Portugal. We’re an early team of two founders, meaning this hire will have real influence over both the product and the company from day one.

Location: Leuven (Remote), with ~20% travel in Europe

About the Role

You’d be joining as our third team member and first dedicated technical hire, working directly alongside the two co-founders to build out the core computer vision and decision-making system from the ground up. The exact title: Founding Engineer or CTO – is open, and we’ll shape it around your profile, technical leadership track record, and appetite for early-stage risk. What stays constant either way: you’ll define the technical stack rather than inherit one, own architecture decisions, and build a system that has to work with messy, real-world building data from day one.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build computer vision pipelines, including 3D and spatial data such as point clouds or photogrammetry, that take raw building scans and turn them into structured, usable outputs
  • Build, fine-tune, or deploy models for object detection, similarity matching, or tracking
  • Establish classification schemes and taxonomies for materials and components, and build models that predict outcomes like recoverable yield or material grade from that data
  • Design and populate the reference database, and build the matching logic that links detected components to the right technical, material, and carbon data
  • Design the data infrastructure that these models and the wider product depend on, including how data is stored, versioned, and improved over time
  • Contribute to the optimisation logic that routes materials and components to their highest-value use
  • Work across the stack where needed, not just the ML layer, especially in these early months
  • Translate technical trade-offs into terms that investors, pilot customers, and non-technical collaborators can act on

Things We’re Looking For

  • English + other languages a bonus
  • Able to explain technical work to non-technical audiences
  • Creative and independent-minded
  • Want to get hands-on to understand the problem from the customer’s point of view
  • Product-minded

Compensation

Equity-first compensation, with the option to tailor the cash-equity mix based on mutual agreement.
