The Solution
Cocoon is capturing CO₂ into industrial waste and upcycling this into a green cement alternative to decarbonise the steel and cement industries. This mineralisation process has been the focus of the Chief Scientist Officer’s research and Cocoon is now commercialising it at scale.
The Problem
Impact
Cocoon is building carbon capture for heavy industry and creating low-carbon construction ma- terials for the builders of tomorrow. The company makes steel green, and cement clean. For every 1 tonne of slag upcycled, 1 tonne of CO2 is negated. Cocoon is targeting the production of over 10 million tonnes of SCM /and therefore CO2 reduction by 2034.
