Insulating walls is too expensive. Existing options are not good: - Cavity wall insulation: Not all buildings have a cavity wall. Cavity wall insulation only gets you to EPC B/C at best. - Indoor wall insulation: Expensive. Loss of space (at 20,000 / m2 in London). Requires redecorating. - External insulation: Requires permitting approval. Expensive. Solution: Paint or wallpaper with thermal insulating properties using aerogel (new material used in aerospace with very low thermal conductivity). Note: I am not a materials or chemical engineer. So if anyone with the right expertise is keen to explore this a bit, let me know!
