About Freight-Lite

The Problem
The wooden pallet—used under nearly every consignment of freight—is hailed as a logistics essential and even as “green” because it’s made of wood. But the reality is different:

• 1.2 billion new pallets are made annually in the EU, increasing 5% year on year

• Most see just 1–2 uses before disposal

• This consumes 12.5 million tons of wood and emits up to 46 million tons of CO₂ when incinerated

• That’s the annual CO₂ equivalent of 345,000 HGV trucks

The Solution
Freight-Lite is a patented handling system that eliminates the need for pallets to travel with goods—slashing costs and emissions.

It’s compatible with existing infrastructure (forklifts, racking) and delivers:

• A lifespan of 10+ years

• <12-month ROI in FMCG settings

• Minimal operational change, maximum environmental impact

Currently at TRL 4–6, the technology is ready for further development and commercialisation.

Founding CEO

You’re a driven, strategic leader who can shape the business vision, attract customers and investment, and build a world-class team.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the commercialisation of Freight-Lite

• Develop go-to-market strategy and secure pilot customers

• Own investor relations and fundraising

• Build company culture, brand, and team

• Drive high-impact growth from day one

Ideal experience:

• Strong track record in startup leadership or business development

• Deep understanding of supply chains, logistics, or B2B sales

• Experience raising early-stage investment

• Passion for climate tech and hardware commercialisation

Founding CTO

You’re a technical founder with a passion for building and delivering real-world hardware solutions with massive impact.

What you’ll do:

• Lead technology development, prototyping, and testing

• Oversee industrial design, engineering, and manufacturing partnerships

• Refine the system architecture and drive R&D to TRL 9

• Support product-market fit alongside the CEO

• Build and manage the technical team

Ideal experience:

• Electro-mechanical or mechanical engineering background

• Experience with product development and scaling physical products

• Familiarity with logistics equipment or materials handling a bonus

• Startup or early-stage hardware experience preferred
