Remy Launches AI Powered App to Reduce Food Waste
One of Carbon13’s portfolio has launched a ground-breaking recipe app that combines AI and user data to reduce food waste by 70%.
The app, named Remy, allows users to see:
- What’s in their kitchens
- When it’s going to expire
- The meals they can make with their ingredients
- And give them the option to buy what’s missing
All from their phones.
Remy analyses user data to recommend hyper-personalised recipes based on the ingredients in their kitchen, dietary preferences and prior eating habits, then builds their shopping lists automatically and lets them buy it with their favourite retailers at the click of a button. In doing so, helping users buy what they need and cook what they buy.
“As two tech enthusiasts with a passion for food, we are delighted to be launching a product which leverages AI and user data, allowing easy access for all users and delivering waste-free culinary excellence. We hope to play a significant role in reducing the 71.2 million tonnes of CO2e released from avoidable household food waste across Europe each year.
We really appreciate the support of the organisations that have helped us reach this point, including Carbon13, our lead investors, giving us the financial and professional support to reach this point.“

Remy is the brainchild of university friends, Jake Blaisdell (Left) and Conrad Kissling (Right), and was born out of a shared frustration with food waste. In their student flat, the sight of wilting greens, expired chicken, and the realisation of money wasted on unused groceries inspired them to tackle food waste and create a smarter approach to kitchen management.
Together, they designed Remy not only to minimise food waste but also revolutionise the way people plan, shop, and cook sustainably—helping users save both time and money along the way.
‘Our aim in creating Remy is to provide an engaging, fun and resourceful app that enables our users to be creative, mindful and save time and money when choosing and making their meals at home. It’s also a great way for people to meet their New Year’s Resolutions, offering a more sustainable and inspired approach to recipe choice and food wastage,’ says Jake Blaisdell, Co- Founder, Remy.
