Powering a new era of AI-driven charging for the sustainable electrification of mobility
VoltVogel has recently completed a pilot project with Europcar, where they tested their innovative battery-based mobile charging station at two of their key rental locations in Berlin. This pilot was a crucial step in assessing the practicality and effectiveness of their solution in real-world conditions.
Over the course of a month-long test with Europcar, Voltvogel’s charging station—equipped with a 40KWh battery and delivering up to 40KW output via a CCS2 connector—provided over 1MWh of energy. The ai-driven charging system could charge a variety of EVs from different manufacturers. The three co-founders Christine Curtius, Dr Katharine Shapcott and Abhishek Nair have gained valuable insights into the performance and reliability of their system across different scenarios.
“As Hardware enabled Software startup our customers want to see our product in real world scenarios to gain trust. Having charged multiple cars in different rental sites helps gaining this trust that is essential for every customer relationship. The attention of other interested customers on this project was high, so we were able to get further short term charging projects and get into negotiations with 2 other big corporations about a collaboration with them.”
