The Solution

Samudra Oceans are pioneers in the Blue Carbon revolution, dedicated to making a significant impact on climate change by leveraging the untapped potential of the oceans. Their name, inspired by the Sanskrit word for ‘Ocean’, reflects their deep connection to the marine world and their commitment to safeguarding it.

The Problem

Scaling and automation of seaweed farms has numerous climate-related benefits. It helps in carbon capture, mitigates ocean acidification, supports biodiversity, improves water quality, offers sustainable food and product alternatives, has potential for renewable energy production, and contributes to blue carbon ecosystems. As the world looks for ways to combat climate change, seaweed farming emerges as a promising and sustainable practice.

Impact

Our mission is clear: to remove 1 Giga Tonne of carbon from the atmosphere by 2033. How? By harnessing the power of advanced robotics and AI technology, and focusing on one of the ocean’s most promising resources – seaweed. Research shows that seaweed can capture up to 20 times more atmospheric carbon than terrestrial plants, making it a key player in our fight against climate change.
